Special Programs - Awards & Achievements
NMRHS students have earned a variety of awards and recognition from various sources during recent academic years. Samples of their academic achievements include:
- National Merit Scholar finalist
- 17 perfect MCAS subject test scores since 2003
- 84 John and Abigail Adams scholarships for the Class of 2006
- 7 National Latin Exam Gold Medalists and sixteen Silver Medalists in 2006
- 11 first place finishes in the North Worcester County Math League during the past twelve years
- 633 completed Advanced Placement exams by 383 students since 2003!
A sample of awards and recognition within the Fine Arts include:
- Gold Medal and Outstanding Soloist awards at the 2006 International Association of Jazz Educators Central District Competition, Jazz Ensemble, Chorus, and Orchestra Awards
- All-State Recommendations at the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Massachusetts Music Educators Association Central District Music Festival
- Gold Medal and Silver Key Awards at the Mount Wachusett Community College High School Art Exhibition and Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards.
In addition to the accolades earned by our students from outside institutions, we regularly recognize the achievements of our students during school events. "Students of the Quarter" and students who earn a place on the Special Honors honor roll are feted at a recognition breakfast once each quarter. Seniors are given department and subject area awards at a Senior Awards night at the end of the academic year and last spring we began the tradition of holding a similar evening for underclassmen. Finally, our Fine Arts and World Languages departments host presentation evenings for students to display their work for the community.
