Special Programs - Pre-Engineering
At the high school, the Pre-Engineering course offers a project based learning experience with emphasis on the engineering design process. Students use the design process to develop their design and problem solving skills. Technical sketching and Computer Aided Design (CAD) are components of each project. Major projects include the design, construction and testing of CO2 drag race cars, bottle rockets, and catapults. Major topics include manufacturing, transportation, and construction. Teamwork and problem-solving skills are stressed throughout the course.
